The Seasonal Deli/Food Service position at Buc-ee's is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with food and engaging with customers in a fast-paced and dynamic setting. This is a seasonal role running from May 1st to September 8th, offering a competitive wage of $21.00 per hour. The role is ideal for those who have experience working in high volume, fast-paced restaurants but is also open to individuals without prior experience as comprehensive training is provided. Employees in this position will develop culinary skills by preparing various food items including BBQ, baked goods, sandwiches, tacos, jerky, and more. The job requires quick thinking, efficiency, and a friendly demeanor to handle multiple tasks and ensure customer satisfaction.
Employees will be responsible for preparing food according to Buc-ee's unique recipes while adhering to strict health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. They will work with various kitchen equipment and appliances, including mixers, slicers, ovens, knives, and fryers. The role also involves operating Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management Systems, and other transaction devices to maintain smooth service operations. Maintaining a clean and organized workstation under busy conditions is essential.
Communication and teamwork are key components of success in this position. Employees must provide responsive communication with management and fellow team members, fostering a cooperative and professional work environment. Flexibility is essential, with duties potentially extending beyond normal responsibilities and schedules varying to include weekends, holidays, day, and night shifts. The role demands physical stamina, including prolonged periods of walking or standing and performing tasks that require bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling heavy items.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- restaurant or retail experience preferred
- ability to stand or walk for 8 hours or more
- ability to bend, stoop, crouch, climb, reach, balance, push, and pull items weighing 40 lbs or more
- willingness to work weekends and holidays
- ability to work rotating schedules including day and night shifts
- regular and prompt attendance
- ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications

- restaurant or retail experience preferred
- kitchen line cook experience is a plus
- experience as busser, server, expediter, or service staff a plus

Job Duties
- develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
- prepare Buc-ee's unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
- adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
- follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
- guarantee safe food handling
- competent use of various menu ordering kiosks, kitchen management system, and transaction devices
- maintain a clean workstation while quickly executing orders for customers
- provide responsive communication with store management and fellow associates
- safely and effectively use a wide variety of kitchen equipment and appliances including floor mixer, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers
- professionally interact with team members and customers
- perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed
- work weekends and holidays as needed
- work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night as needed
- maintain regular and prompt attendance
- perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
