We are currently seeking passionate and motivated Seasonal Deli/Food Service employees to join our team from May 1st through September 8th. This seasonal position offers a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, perfect for individuals who enjoy working with food and thrive in high-volume settings. Whether you have previous experience in the food service industry or are new and eager to learn, Buc-ee's guarantees thorough training to ensure your success. As a member of our food service team, you will have the opportunity to develop culinary skills across a variety of delicious offerings including BBQ, baked goods, sandwiches, tacos, jerky, fudge, and more. Your role will involve preparing menu items to exact company recipes while maintaining consistency and quality for every customer.
The ideal candidate is quick on their feet, loves interacting with people, and has a genuine passion for delivering outstanding service. You will be expected to maintain a clean and efficient workstation, execute orders rapidly, and operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively. Alongside food preparation, you will also utilize menu ordering kiosks, kitchen management systems, and transaction devices as part of your daily duties. Maintaining health, safety, and sanitation standards is essential to guarantee safe food handling and meet company policies.
This position requires flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night shifts. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Restaurant or retail experience preferred
- Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods of 8 hours or more
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, crouch, climb, reach, balance, push, and pull items weighing 40 lbs or more
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible rotating shifts
- Punctuality and reliable attendance
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Restaurant or retail experience preferred including kitchen line cook, busser, server, expediter, or service staff experience
- Ability to quickly learn multiple stations and food preparation methods
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain sanitation standards
Job Duties
- Develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
- Prepare Buc-ee's unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Guarantee safe food handling
- Competent use of various menu ordering kiosks, kitchen management system, and transaction devices
- Maintain a clean workstation while quickly executing orders for customers
- Provide responsive communication with store management and fellow associates
- Safely and effectively use a wide variety of kitchen equipment and appliances including floor mixer, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers
- Professionally interact with team members and customers
- Perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed
- Work weekends and holidays as needed
- Work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night
- Maintain regular and prompt attendance
- Perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
