Buc-ee's is currently seeking passionate Seasonal Deli/Food Service employees to join their team for a seasonal period from May 1st to September 8th. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who love working with food and enjoy providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The position is seasonal with a competitive hourly rate of $21.00. High energy, enthusiasm, and a love for food service are critical for success in this role. Buc-ee's welcomes applicants with prior experience in fast-paced restaurants, but training is provided for those who are new to the industry, emphasizing the company's commitment to employee development and skill-building.
In this role, employees will work across various stations preparing a diverse offering of food items such as BBQ, baked goods, sandwiches, tacos, and jerky. It requires adaptability, quick learning, and a customer-focused attitude. Employees are expected to maintain safety and sanitation standards while executing orders efficiently and maintaining clean workstations. This position also involves operating kitchen equipment including floor mixers, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers safely and effectively. Besides culinary skills, employees will learn to navigate Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management Systems, and transaction devices to support seamless food service operations.
Buc-ee's places a strong emphasis on professionalism and teamwork, expecting employees to communicate responsively with management and fellow associates. Flexibility regarding work hours is necessary, as the job requires working weekends, holidays, and rotating schedules alternating between day and night shifts. Employees may also be required to perform additional duties outside their normal responsibilities to ensure operational success. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Restaurant or retail experience preferred
- Prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
- Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g. product or material weighing 40 lbs. or more)
- Employee must be able to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Restaurant or retail experience preferred
- Experience as kitchen line cook, busser, server, expediter, or service staff a plus
- Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
Job Duties
- Develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
- Prepare Buc-ee's unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
- Adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
- Guarantee safe food handling
- Competent use of various menu ordering kiosks, kitchen management system, and transaction devices
- Maintain a clean workstation while quickly executing orders for customers
