The opportunity at hand is for Seasonal Deli/Food Service employees, an essential role within Buc-ee's food service operations. This is a seasonal position, running from May 1st through September 8th, offering an hourly wage of $21.00. The job is designed for individuals who thrive in high-volume, fast-paced food environments and have a passion for working with food and delivering excellent customer service. The role requires versatility, as employees will rotate through various stations preparing a variety of food items including BBQ, baked goods, sandwiches, tacos, jerky, fudge, and more.

Employees in this position must be quick learners, able to maintain a cheerful and customer-focused attitude while working efficiently. There is an emphasis on adherence to established recipes, food safety standards, and sanitation protocols to guarantee safe handling and quality assurance. Technological proficiency is also necessary as employees will use several systems like Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management Systems, and transaction devices. Maintaining cleanliness of workstations, collaborating with team members, communicating effectively with management, and managing equipment safely — including mixers, slicers, ovens, knives, and fryers — are critical to daily operations. Because the company values flexibility, the role involves working rotating schedules that may alternate between day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • restaurant or retail experience preferred
  • prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
  • frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g. product or material weighing 40 lbs. or more)
  • ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
  • availability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
  • quick learner willing to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • restaurant or retail experience preferred
  • kitchen line cook, busser, server, expediter, service staff experience a plus

Job Duties

  • Develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
  • prepare Buc-ee's unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
  • adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
  • follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • guarantee safe food handling
  • competent use of various Menu Ordering Kiosks, Kitchen Management System, and transaction devices
  • maintain a clean workstation while quickly executing orders for customers
  • provide responsive communication with store management and fellow associates
  • safely and effectively use a wide variety of kitchen equipment and appliances including floor mixer, slicers, ovens, sharp knives, and fryers
  • professionally interact with team members and customers
  • perform duties outside normal responsibilities as needed
  • work weekends and holidays as needed
  • work a rotating schedule alternating between day and night as needed
  • maintain regular and prompt attendance
  • perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
