Job Description

The company is currently seeking passionate and enthusiastic Deli/Food Service employees to join their dynamic teams. This hourly position offers a wage of $18.00 per hour and includes valuable benefits such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, three weeks of paid time off, and a 401(k) plan with a 100 percent match up to 6 percent. Buc-ee’s is looking for individuals who genuinely enjoy working with food and interacting with customers in a fast-paced environment.

This role is ideal for candidates who have experience in high-volume, fast-paced restaurants, but even those without prior experience are encouraged to apply as Buc-ee’s provides comprehensive training. Employees in this position will work across multiple food preparation stations including BBQ, baked goods, made-to-order sandwiches and tacos, jerky, and various other menu items. The ideal candidate is quick on their feet, possesses a positive attitude, and genuinely enjoys providing exceptional customer service.

The responsibilities of this position extend beyond simple food preparation to include adhering strictly to Buc-ee’s culinary recipes and portion measurements to maintain the consistency that customers expect. Employees are expected to follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines rigorously to ensure all food offerings are prepared and served safely. The ability to competently use various ordering kiosks, kitchen management systems, and transaction devices is essential to facilitate smooth and efficient order processing.

Maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the work station, communicating effectively with store management and fellow associates, and demonstrating professional interaction with team members and customers are key components of daily work life. Additionally, employees must be comfortable using various kitchen equipment such as floor mixers, slicers, ovens, and fryers. The role may require performing duties beyond the typical job scope and involves working weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts between day and night as needed.

Working in this role demands physical endurance, including prolonged standing or walking for eight hours or more, along with bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, and lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds. Job Requirements

  • restaurant or retail experience preferred
  • prolonged walking or standing for 8 hours or more
  • frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing reaching, balancing, pushing, pulling (e.g. product or material weighing 40 lbs. or more)
  • ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
  • work weekends and holidays as needed
  • work a rotating schedule that may alternate between day and night as needed
  • regular and prompt attendance

Job Qualifications

  • restaurant or retail experience preferred
  • kitchen line cook, busser, server, expediter, service staff experience a plus
  • ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • positive attitude and willingness to learn

Job Duties

  • develop culinary skills as you prep bakery offerings, jerky, fudge, BBQ, and other restaurant menu items
  • prepare Buc-ee’s unique food service menu offerings to prescribed recipes and maintain confidentiality
  • adhere to all company culinary recipes and measurements
  • follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for all products
  • guarantee safe food handling
  • competent use of various menu ordering kiosks, kitchen management system, and transaction devices
  • maintain a clean work station while quickly executing orders for customers
