Job Description
Founded over a century ago as a small grocery store in Cincinnati, Kroger has grown to become the nation’s largest grocer with nearly 2,800 stores across 35 states operating under 28 different names. As one of America’s leading food retailers, Kroger is dedicated to bringing together diverse teams who share a passion for food and exceptional customer service. Committed to the company’s core values—respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety—Kroger strives to create outstanding experiences for customers, employees, and communities alike. At Kroger, people matter deeply. The company supports its associates with opportunities for growth, comprehensive benefits, and a caring environment that fosters both personal and professional fulfillment.
We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Baristas within our grocery stores. This role focuses on exceeding service standards by providing customers with prompt, quality coffee selection, preparation, and purchase experiences. As a Barista at Kroger, you will be an essential part of bringing our customers’ coffee moments to life through excellent service, attention to detail, and adherence to company standards. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate the company’s core values daily, interacting with customers and teammates in a friendly and professional manner. This position is suitable for those who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality beverages while contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
As a Barista, you will be trained to develop your skills and knowledge through initial store training and a barista certification process requiring a minimum score of 90% or better. Kroger offers flexible scheduling for both full- and part-time roles, including weekend shifts and potential overtime. This role not only provides a job but also a platform for growth, supported by extensive training programs and career pathways to advance within Kroger's broader organization. By joining Kroger, you become part of a company that values diversity and inclusion, promising a workplace where your voice is heard and your potential is nurtured.
