The role of Deli Production Manager at Good Foods Co-op is a full-time position that plays a vital leadership role in overseeing the daily production operations within the Kitchen and Café areas. The manager is responsible for coordinating workflow efficiency, managing kitchen, café, and dishwasher staff, and ensuring the consistent availability of high-quality prepared foods and café offerings. This role requires a proactive leader who is passionate about food production, team development, and operational excellence. The manager also handles scheduling, hiring, onboarding, and employee training, supporting a supportive work environment that encourages growth and collaboration. The successful candidate will monitor key operational metrics such as sales, labor, food costs, and production efficiency while maintaining strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations. The position also involves merchandising responsibilities, including signage, displays, and product presentation to sustain an attractive and organized kitchen and retail environment.
Additional responsibilities include minimizing product shrinkage, properly handling unsellable items, and collaborating with the Prepared Foods Manager on improvements and staffing needs. Leadership tasks encompass coaching, accountability, and daily operational support to staff to foster a positive and productive team environment. The position also supports inventory management, ordering processes, menu development, and department organization as needed. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years in prepared foods or related kitchen experience
- At least two years in supervisory or management roles
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills
- Ability to maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Effective communication and organizational abilities
- Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Job Qualifications
- Five years of prepared foods, restaurant, cafe, or kitchen experience
- Two years supervisor or personnel management experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, hands-on environment

- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen operations

Job Duties
- Managing and supporting kitchen, cafe, and dishwasher staff
