Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 - 6 years minimum supervisory experience
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Operate deli equipment (e.g., slicer, fryer, oven, scale, knives, box cutter and pricing gun) according to company guidelines
  • Proficient with computer applications used in effectively operating the department
  • Possession of Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain same within 180 days of placement

Job Duties

  • Manage the daily operations of the deli department
  • Increase customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions
  • Provide fresh and appealing products, courteous and knowledgeable service
  • Execute merchandising plans according to department planners and company standards
  • Supervise, train, and develop team members with coaching as needed
  • Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory compliance standards including food safety and sanitation
  • Complete daily administrative tasks such as scheduling, ordering, pricing changes, and training
  • Monitor inventory and product quality, taking appropriate actions to maintain standards
  • Plan and organize inventory processes to minimize shrink and maximize sales
  • Foster a culture of safety and inclusivity within the department
