As a cooperative business, it fosters a strong sense of community and teamwork among its employees, encouraging a collaborative work environment and ongoing development opportunities. The store prides itself on creating an inclusive atmosphere where customers and staff alike feel valued and supported. Employees enjoy a dynamic workplace that combines the challenges of retail with the rewarding goal of enhancing customers' daily lives through good food and friendly service.

The role of Deli Lead for the Front of House at the Co-op is an essential leadership position responsible for guiding a dedicated deli team in delivering delicious food with outstanding service. This full-time role focuses on fostering a positive, energetic environment where customers receive fast, knowledgeable assistance, and the deli line is consistently maintained to high standards. The Deli Lead is tasked with training and supporting deli staff, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and managing daily operations such as staffing plans, inventory monitoring, and communication with other departments including kitchen and management teams.

In this role, you will be instrumental in balancing customer demand with workflow efficiency, coaching team members on product knowledge, portion control, and service techniques, and maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting deli area. Your leadership will promote teamwork, positivity, and professionalism, ensuring that customers leave with a memorable experience. Strong communication skills, organization, and proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Teams and the Office Suite are vital. You will also be expected to handle customer concerns promptly and tactfully, supporting a culture of respect and problem-solving.

Working as a Deli Lead at the Co-op means being part of a fast-paced, customer-facing environment that values hard work, dedication, and community spirit. Physical aspects of the job include standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and utilizing step stools or ladders safely. The store provides personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety while using equipment and handling food. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to grow professionally within a cooperative that values employee contributions and customer satisfaction.

Joining the Co-op team as a Deli Lead comes with numerous benefits such as a store discount, quarterly bonuses, an additional $0.60 per hour to spend in-store, competitive insurance packages, and a 401(k) plan.
