Job Requirements

  • Attained at least 18 years of age
  • if age 16-17 cannot operate any equipment such as slicer or buffalo chopper
  • able to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 to 80 pounds
  • manual dexterity
  • auditory and visual skills
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
  • ability to do simple math problems
  • able to work within a deli/kitchen environment exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
  • able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous prep cook experience preferred
  • ability to follow recipes and measurements accurately
  • strong attention to detail
  • ability to work independently and productively
  • effective communication skills
  • teamwork-oriented mindset

Job Duties

  • Plan and prepare the department's needs
  • set-up, organize, and prepare food using established production procedures and systems
  • comply with sanitation, health and personal hygiene standards
  • keep the work area clean
  • observe proper food handling techniques
  • assist line cooks when needed
  • assist deli department when needed
  • store food properly and safely
  • mark the date and item
