The store located at The Fountains at Palomar in Lexington, KY is currently hiring for part-time and full-time positions including deli clerks, front service clerks, and cashiers. The deli clerk position involves engaging customers with friendliness and professionalism, preparing food items such as party trays, handling deli equipment like slicers and ovens, maintaining sanitation standards, stocking and organizing deli products, while also providing information to help customers make informed purchase decisions. Cashiers will be responsible for operating the cash register, managing various financial transactions including check cashing and lottery sales, balancing cash drawers, answering customer inquiries, and ensuring the front-end operations run smoothly to maintain a pleasant shopping experience.

Job Requirements

At least 18 years of age for deli clerks and customer service staff
At least 14 years of age for bagger/cashier positions
Ability to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
Ability to read, write, and do simple math problems
Ability to interpret and follow instructions
Experience in the food service industry preferred for deli clerks
Prior cash handling experience preferred for cashiers

Job Duties

Provide premier customer service including greeting customers and answering their questions
Maintain high standards for freshness and sanitation
Sell products by providing customers with necessary information
Fill, maintain, and rotate products and displays
Prepare special orders and party trays
Operate cash registers, meat and cheese slicers, oven, fryer, microwave, cutting tools, scale, and other deli equipment
Assist with other duties as assigned, Handle money services including check cashing, lottery, gift cards, money orders, and Western Union transactions
Perform daily bookkeeping such as balancing and reconciling cash drawers
Maintain office accountability and prepare deposits
Answer and direct telephone calls
Maintain the cash office and equipment
Coordinate front-end operations to ensure premier customer service
