The role of the Deli Bakery Associate at MDBS involves working as part of a vibrant team focused on delivering excellent customer service to military community members. In this part-time position, the associate will be directly involved in various food preparation and display duties within the deli and bakery departments. From slicing deli meats and cheeses to preparing custom party trays and sandwiches, this position demands attention to detail, precision, and pride in food handling. The part-time Deli Bakery Associate will be cross-trained in various tasks including cake decorating, baking, rotisserie chicken preparation, and managing inventory shipments. The position requires individuals who can thrive in fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environments, as well as maintain effective communication and teamwork within the department. This role offers great pay, flexible scheduling, holiday pay for over 10 holidays annually, paid time off with two weeks’ vacation after one year, and a 401k plan. The commissaries generally close around 7:00 pm, allowing associates more personal time compared to other retail settings.
