Job Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age due to required operation of Deli equipment
- Eagerness to interact with customers
- Strong sense of team - ability to anticipate the needs of the team
- Ability to work at a fast paced and efficient manner
- Ability to take initiative and make decisions independently regarding department needs and priorities under general supervision
- Excellent time management prioritization and organization skills
- Ability to stand walk lift bend push/pull for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Job Duties
- Serve customers in the Deli Department while modeling Sendik's culture and providing best in class customer service which includes greeting engaging delighting and thanking every guest for their business
- Slicing meats and cheeses using the deli slicer
- Weigh package price and label Deli items
- Assist customers with answering questions and making recommendations
- Take and fulfill customer orders via phone and in person
- Prepare salad bar items various deli salads pizzas sandwiches/wraps and dips according to the daily production schedule
- Assist with maintaining the back cooler including rotating stock dating and cleaning
- Assist Deli Department with stocking rotating and facing the Deli wall
- Assist Deli Chef and Cook with minimal food preparation
- Maintain sanitation and temperature logs as needed
- Operate maintain and clean deli equipment including knives ovens fryers dishwashers coolers and slicers
- Assist with the training and mentoring of new associates in the Deli Department
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety/sanitation regulations and procedures
- Assist with all other Deli Department duties as needed
