Within this expansive and well-established company, the role of Deli Assistant Manager at Pilot Flying J offers an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role within one of the company’s high-volume retail travel centers. The Deli Assistant Manager will take charge of executing business plans tailored to the travel center and restaurant operations to meet set standards, sales goals, profit targets, and customer satisfaction benchmarks. This position requires a hands-on leader who can diligently oversee day-to-day activities, including ensuring that customer expectations are consistently met through superior service and operational efficiency. Responsibilities include leading and motivating the deli team by conducting regular meetings and fostering a collaborative work environment, maintaining strong vendor relationships to streamline procurement and inventory management, and supporting staffing initiatives such as interviewing, hiring, and training to build high-performing teams. Additionally, the Deli Assistant Manager will drive sales and profitability through strategic oversight, track inventory tightly to avoid wastage while ensuring product availability, perform profit and loss (P&L) analysis to inform decision-making, and deliver exceptional customer service that reinforces the company’s reputation for quality and reliability. This role demands a flexible schedule to cover nights, days, weekends, and holidays as needed. The position comes with a competitive salary range starting between $41,700 and $60,460 per year.
