Job Description
Deer Valley Resort is a premier mountain ski resort located in the picturesque Wasatch Mountains of Utah, specifically in the historic mining town of Park City. The position available is for a Seasonal Cook II, an essential role in the culinary operations of Deer Valley Resort. This role serves as an assistant to the Sous Chef, focusing on the preparation and presentation of daily menu items, ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly during peak hours. The Cook II is charged with cooking dishes according to established recipes and collaborating with both the sous chef and executive chef to develop new food selections. Key responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness at service lines, periodically changing pans, restocking food selections, and ensuring that meals are appropriately garnished for guest satisfaction. The role requires the Cook II to prepare mise-en-place in sufficient quantities for daily needs, properly store and rotate food to avoid waste, and complete daily inventory counts accurately. During busy periods, the Cook II also supports servers to maintain efficient service. Attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and a proactive attitude towards additional duties as assigned are vital to success in this role. This position is strictly seasonal, targeting employment during the summer of 2026, and offers a competitive pay rate of $22.50 per hour. Job Duties
- Cook dishes according to recipes and develop new food selections in conjunction with the sous chef and executive chef
- Keep service lines clean, change pans as needed, and ensure food selections are well-stocked and appropriately garnished
- Ensure mise-en-place is in sufficient quantities for the day’s requirements
- Properly store and rotate food to ensure freshness and avoid waste
- Complete daily inventories
