Positive and fun workplace recognition is embedded into our culture to ensure our employees feel appreciated daily.
We are currently seeking a Child Care Cook / Food Specialist responsible for the overall preparation of food for the children enrolled at our school. This role is vital in ensuring that all meals and snacks meet nutritional standards, menu guidelines, and health and safety regulations. The Food Specialist will adapt to menu changes, preparing home-style, nutritional meals within the parameters of the school's budget and state and federal requirements. This position involves preparing and distributing meals and snacks to classrooms and maintaining inventory and organizational standards within the kitchen.
As a Food Specialist, you will be at home in the kitchen, responsible for creating nutritious meal plans aligned with the school's menu and budget, while adhering to USDA and licensing regulations. You will ensure food safety, maintain a well-organized inventory, and order supplies as needed. In addition to food preparation, you will assist in classrooms as needed, functioning as an assistant teacher or floater, adding value to the overall learning environment and childcare services.
This position offers competitive compensation based on education and experience, with hourly pay ranging from $13.37 to $13.89. We provide flexible working hours, a Monday through Friday workweek, limited medical benefits for part-time workers, and additional benefits such as education assistance, tuition reimbursement, certification support, 401(k) with company match, life and disability insurance, and employee childcare discounts.
