This organization values its employees as its greatest asset and offers comprehensive benefits including childcare discounts, health programs, and educational assistance, reflecting its commitment to team success and satisfaction.
The role of Child Care Cook, Food Specialist at Learning Care is more than just a job — it is a rewarding journey filled with learning, growth, and daily engagement. This position is essential to the smooth operation of the childcare center's food services by ensuring that all food preparation meets nutritional standards and regulatory requirements. As a Food Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing home-style, nutritious meals and snacks for children and staff members, adhering strictly to the menu guidelines established by the Director in compliance with USDA, licensing, and health department rules. You will also oversee inventory management, ensuring that foods and supplies are stocked adequately to meet daily demands. Additionally, adaptability and organization are key traits, as the role requires adjusting to menu changes and assisting classroom activities when needed, often functioning as an Assistant Teacher or Floater.
Working at Learning Care offers flexible scheduling options designed to promote work-life balance, with no night or weekend shifts, and the unique advantage of bringing your own children to work. Employees enjoy a supportive atmosphere where their contributions are recognized and valued. The compensation package is competitive and based on position, education, and experience, with Food Specialists earning an hourly rate in the range of $14.70 to $15.27. Benefits include limited medical coverage for part-time workers, tuition reimbursement, certification assistance, a 401(k) plan with company match, life and disability insurance, and significant childcare discounts. The workweek is Monday through Friday, promoting a consistent schedule that supports personal and professional life. Joining Learning Care means becoming part of a dedicated family focused on enriching the lives of children while advancing the careers and well-being of its employees.
