Job Requirements

  • Flexible schedule availability, including possible evenings or weekends
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting during daily cleaning activities
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 pounds regularly
  • Ability to operate standard custodial equipment and cleaning tools safely and effectively
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions as needed
  • Must be able to respond quickly to spills, cleaning requests, and facility support needs across campus
  • Ability to climb stairs and move throughout multiple buildings during the workday

Job Qualifications

  • Previous porter, custodial, janitorial, or housekeeping experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the workday

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, lobbies, and common areas throughout the day
  • Perform routine cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal
  • Monitor and restock restroom and facility supplies as needed
  • Respond quickly to spills, accidents, and urgent cleaning requests
  • Assist with event setup and breakdown for campus meetings and activities
  • Conduct light maintenance duties and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly
  • Maintain cleaning equipment and storage areas in an organized manner
  • Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA standards
  • Provide professional and courteous customer service to students, faculty, staff, and guests
