CCS Facility Services is one of the largest building service contractors in the United States, renowned for delivering expert janitorial and facility engineering services to thousands of commercial businesses nationwide. With a robust team composed of experienced cleaning and engineering professionals, CCS Facility Services operates with a strong commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction. Guided by a fundamental philosophy known as the Service Heart, the company is built to serve with passion and dedication, always striving to exceed the expectations of their clients. They foster a work culture that promotes growth, development, and internal advancement, ensuring employees feel valued and empowered as valuable members of the CCS community.
The role of a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services is crucial in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas in office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional facilities. This position is designed for individuals who take pride in their work environment and possess a keen eye for detail. As a Day Porter, the primary responsibilities include duties such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on lobby doors, vacuuming elevator cabs, wiping down surfaces, and inspecting the building exterior for trash. The role demands regular upkeep including cleaning ashtrays and sand urns on every floor, emptying external trash receptacles, and checking restrooms twice daily. Additionally, the Day Porter sweeps stairwells and landings, maintains landscaped areas by removing debris, and ensures building entrances are clean and inviting.
Beyond routine cleaning, the Day Porter is expected to be proactive in reporting maintenance issues such as lighting problems or suspicious activity to the management office. This role also involves policing the lobby during high-traffic times to keep floors and planters free of paper and debris, and providing assistance to building engineers as needed. The ability to work efficiently, manage time well, and uphold company standards for safety, security, and quality is essential.
Candidates who succeed in this role typically demonstrate a dependable work ethic, punctuality, a strong sense of accountability, and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols closely. The work environment for a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services may entail exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, chemicals, outdoor weather elements, and moderate noise levels, requiring an employee who is vigilant and capable of working responsibly in these settings. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Overall, a Day Porter at CCS Facility Services plays a vital role in supporting the company’s mission to provide outstanding facility services while fostering a professional environment that benefits both employees and clients. This position offers an opportunity to join a recognized leader in the building service industry with a focus on employee development, community, and delivering high-quality service experiences.
