This role is for a Day Porter, a key position responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas in office buildings, apartment houses, or various commercial or institutional properties. The day porter ensures that lobbies, elevators, stairwells, entrances, and other public-facing areas present a polished and welcoming appearance throughout the day. The role involves tasks such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on doors, vacuuming elevator cabs, maintaining ashtrays and trash receptacles, and checking restrooms multiple times daily. The position also requires a proactive approach to safety and security, including reporting any building issues or solicitors and assisting the building engineer as needed.

The day porter plays a vital role in providing a positive experience for tenants, visitors, and employees by ensuring that the building environment remains clean, tidy, and well-maintained. This involves routine cleaning duties as well as responsiveness to immediate cleaning needs that may arise during operating hours. This position requires an individual who is dependable, punctual, and committed to completing tasks efficiently while adhering to safety and security procedures. The day porter is often the first point of contact people have with the building environment, so a professional attitude combined with diligent work ethic is essential.

Working conditions for this role include exposure to varying weather elements, occasional contact with moving mechanical parts, and the use of cleaning chemicals. Despite these challenges, CCS Facility Services endorses a supportive and inclusive work environment with reasonable accommodations available for employees with disabilities. As part of its commitment to employee growth, CCS encourages advancement from within and fosters a community of like-minded professionals dedicated to providing outstanding service.
