The position of Day Porter at CCS Facility Services involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of common areas within office buildings, apartment houses, or other commercial and institutional properties. This role is essential in ensuring that all visible areas are kept pristine, creating a welcoming environment for tenants, visitors, and staff. The Day Porter is responsible for tasks including spot cleaning of lobby glass doors, polishing chrome on lobby doors, vacuuming elevator cabs and wiping their doors, walls, and tops at least twice daily. Additionally, the role entails inspecting the building exterior to pick up trash, cleaning ashtrays and sand urns on every floor, emptying and cleaning exterior trash receptacles, and checking restrooms twice a day.
Other duties involve sweeping stairwells, removing debris from landscaped areas, sweeping building entrances, and cleaning smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall coverings. The Day Porter must also report any lighting issues or solicitors to the management office timely and ensure lobby floors and planters remain free of debris during high-traffic times. The job requires a proactive approach with attention to detail, including tasks such as polishing elevator cab railings and call buttons, dust mopping lobby floors twice daily, and assisting the building engineer as needed. The role requires a person who is dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious, able to work effectively in an environment where they might be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather, and occasional electrical risks.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience
- Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role
- Punctuality and reliable attendance
- Ability to follow safety and security procedures
- Ability to communicate effectively with management and team members
- Willingness to comply with company policies and procedures

Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- Polish chrome on lobby doors
- Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- Check restrooms twice daily
- Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- Sweep building entrances
- Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- Report any lights out to the Management Office
- Report any solicitors to the Management Office
- Police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc.
- Vacuum carpeted floors
- Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
