The role of the Day Porter at CCS Facility Services in Austin, TX involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderly condition of common areas in office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional buildings. This is a critical frontline position, responsible for ensuring comfortable, tidy, and safe environments for tenants, visitors, and employees. Key duties include spot cleaning glass doors, polishing chrome surfaces, vacuuming and wiping elevator cabs twice daily, and attending to the exterior of the building by picking up trash and emptying trash receptacles. Additionally, the Day Porter ensures restrooms are checked regularly, stairwells and landings are swept, and landscaped areas are kept debris-free. Reporting safety issues or malfunctions, such as lights out or the presence of solicitors, is a vital responsibility, helping maintain security and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work flexible hours if needed
- Physical ability to perform cleaning duties
- Willingness to comply with safety standards and company policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial services is advantageous
- Ability to follow instructions and respond promptly to management direction
- Good communication skills for reporting and coordination
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and periodic lifting
- Basic knowledge of safety and security procedures
Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- Polish chrome on lobby doors
- Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- Check restrooms twice daily
- Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- Sweep building entrances
- Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
- Report any solicitors to the Management Office
- Police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc. at high-traffic times each day
- Empty all trash receptacles
- Vacuum carpeted floors
- Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
