Job Description

Northwest Success is a reputable division of The DPI Group, a leading provider of commercial janitorial services specialized in serving government agencies across various facilities such as office buildings, courthouses, and medical clinics. Known for its commitment to community inclusion, Northwest Success operates as a Qualified Rehabilitation Facility (QRF), focusing on employing individuals with disabilities and those who face significant barriers to employment. This company supports a diverse work environment, embracing candidates from all walks of life and celebrating diversity in the workplace. With an emphasis on meaningful employment, Northwest Success integrates social responsibility with high standards of janitorial service to create healthy, clean environments for its clients and offer rewarding jobs for employees.

The current job opening is for a full-time day porter position based in downtown Portland, targeting the day shift from Monday through Friday, 11:00 am to 7:30 pm. This schedule provides a predictable daytime routine and easy access to major public transportation routes including bus lines and MAX light rail services, making commuting convenient for employees. The offered hourly rate is $23, with payment issued every Friday to ensure timely compensation. This role is ideally suited for individuals with experience or interest in janitorial works within fast-paced settings, particularly those who have worked around underserved populations such as houseless communities, individuals with mental health challenges, addiction issues, and the LGBTQIA+ community. However, the company is willing to train candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.

As a day porter, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of restrooms, showers, and common areas, ensuring a sanitary and welcoming environment for all occupants. Specific tasks include cleaning and stocking restrooms and showers, sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash receptacles, disinfecting surfaces such as tables, chairs, and kitchenettes, and managing the cleanliness of an outdoor courtyard. This role involves significant interaction with both the physical environment and community members, which requires diligence, attention to detail, and a genuine understanding of the social dynamics present within this diverse setting.

Northwest Success values its employees and offers benefits such as weekly paychecks, direct deposit, medical and dental coverage, and personal time off to support work-life balance and health. The company fosters a supportive safety net for its workforce, particularly those often marginalized in the job market. Being part of The DPI Group, Northwest Success upholds an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity employment policy, ensuring that all applicants receive fair treatment regardless of veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristics. Joining Northwest Success means joining a team that not only provides excellent janitorial services but also makes a meaningful difference in the community by empowering individuals through employment and inclusion. Candidates eager to contribute to a positive workplace and grow within this impactful organization are encouraged to apply and become part of a team that truly values making a difference every day.
