Programmed Cleaning Inc. is a well-established regional contract cleaning company with over 60 years of experience, headquartered in New Berlin, Wisconsin, with a branch office in Madison. Originating in 1960 as a local Milwaukee cleaning service, the company has expanded its operations throughout Wisconsin and employs over 500 people. Programmed Cleaning Inc. services a diverse clientele including multi-tenant buildings, commercial office spaces, healthcare facilities, financial institutions, and educational facilities. We are currently hiring for a full-time Day Porter Floater / Guest House Cleaner. This role operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering a competitive pay rate of $19.25 per hour. The position includes full-time employee benefits, two weeks of paid time off, and a paid 30-minute lunch break. The Day Porter/Matron is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of both indoor and outdoor public areas in a building or complex. This includes general cleaning, basic maintenance tasks, and ensuring that the property is neat and presentable throughout the day.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience cleaning high-end hotels and be comfortable with standing, walking, and using stairs throughout their shift. Strong communication skills and the ability to read and understand English are essential to follow signage, event setup instructions, and detailed cleaning schedules. A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required for travel between multiple buildings during the workday, with free on-site parking available.
The Day Porter role demands initiative and responsibility, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Duties include maintaining cleanliness in lobbies, sidewalks, stairwells, parking areas, and various other public spaces, performing general cleaning tasks such as trash removal, dust mopping, vacuuming, and floor mopping, disinfecting restrooms, restocking supplies, setting up and breaking down meeting rooms, and communicating any building maintenance needs to management. This position is vital in ensuring the property remains a welcoming and hygienic environment for all occupants and visitors.

Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the day in lobby, sidewalks, elevators, stairwells, parking areas, plazas, landscaping, utility spaces, gutters, and statues
- clean and maintain loading docks and freight/service areas on all levels
- perform general cleaning including trash removal, dust mopping, vacuuming carpets, and routine floor mopping
- regularly clean and disinfect restroom fixtures
- keep restrooms stocked with necessary supplies
- perform routine spot cleaning and dusting
- clean, vacuum, and rinse lobby mats
- set up and break down meeting rooms
- return recycling bins to designated floors
- complete additional duties as assigned
