SBM Management is currently seeking a Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join their growing team. This role is ideal for an individual who is hardworking, dependable, and eager to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction while maintaining clean and safe environments. The custodian plays a crucial part in supporting team efforts to uphold the company’s standards and providing a welcoming atmosphere for both clients and colleagues. Key responsibilities include extensive floor and surface care, waste removal, light maintenance tasks, and compliance with all safety and company protocols. The position requires good judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well with others. This role offers an hourly wage ranging from $16.25 to $17.25, with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, making it suitable for those seeking stable daytime hours.
The Custodian/CSR position demands attention to detail and a proactive approach to cleanliness and orderliness within various facilities, including lobbies, conference rooms, restrooms, and break areas. Additional duties involve supporting janitorial staff with restocking supplies and maintaining equipment, ensuring that all areas meet established standards of cleanliness and presentation. The ideal candidate will be capable of operating small equipment safely and efficiently following explicit oral and written instructions. - ability to read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
- ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
- ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
- know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
- know the American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc
- required to have a valid driver’s license if driving own vehicle or company vehicle on business time, will also require you have proof of vehicle registration and insurance
- bilingual is a plus, not required

Job Duties
- Floor care (vacuuming, mopping, carpet spotting)
- surface care (dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning, metal/wood polishing, clean blinds and draperies)
- waste removal (empty trash and recycle bins, transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas)
- light maintenance (replace light bulbs, restock supply cabinet/room)
- comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
- follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
- take direction and respond to supervision
- use proper personal protective equipment
- present a professional appearance and conduct
- understand reporting systems and of the environment
- transport small equipment, tools, chairs, & tables, straighten areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
- pick up trash, recycling, and compost bins and transport to proper disposal areas
- light vacuuming, dusting, restocking supplies
- clean drop in desktops
- assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms & break rooms
- damp mop floors
- restroom cleaning
- glass cleaning
- restock and organize supplies in janitorial closets and storage areas
- clean elevators
- spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets
- dust open common spaces
