The role of Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) at SBM Management is an essential position tasked with delivering exceptional customer satisfaction while maintaining cleanliness and order within the company’s serviced environments. This position has an immediate opening and offers a competitive hourly wage of $19.00. The Custodian/CSR plays a dual role of maintaining facilities through thorough custodial duties and providing excellent customer service to coworkers, supervisors, and clients. Individuals in this role are expected to be dependable, hardworking, and able to follow explicit oral and written instructions accurately. They contribute to a positive workplace environment by engaging effectively with co-workers and customers, demonstrating good judgment in decision-making, and assisting in training new team members. The responsibilities include but are not limited to floor and surface care, waste removal, light maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols. The custodian must present a professional appearance and conduct, use proper protective equipment, and maintain an orderly workspace. The shifts for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with on-call duties as needed. Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license are essential for this role, especially if driving is required during business hours. While bilingual skills are a plus, they are not mandatory. Job Qualifications

  • less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
  • ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • knowledge of basic arithmetic including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing with 10s and 100s
  • understanding of American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance, and cooking measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons
  • required to have a valid driver’s license if driving during business hours with proof of vehicle registration and insurance
  • bilingual is a plus but not required
  • must have reliable transportation

Job Duties

  • floor care including vacuuming, mopping, carpet spotting
  • surface care such as dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning, metal/wood polishing, cleaning blinds and draperies
  • waste removal including emptying trash and recycle bins, transporting trash to disposal areas
  • light maintenance tasks like replacing light bulbs, restocking supply cabinets and rooms
  • complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • following all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
  • taking direction and responding to supervision
  • using proper personal protective equipment
  • presenting a professional appearance and conduct
  • understanding reporting systems and environment maintenance
  • transporting small equipment, tools, chairs, and tables, straightening common areas
  • cleaning desktops between events, assisting janitorial staff with restroom and break room restocking, damp mopping floors, restroom and glass cleaning
  • restocking and organizing janitorial closets and storage areas, cleaning elevators, spot cleaning upholstered furniture and carpets, dusting open common spaces
