SBM Management is currently seeking a hardworking and dependable Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join their team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for both employees and clients, directly contributing to customer satisfaction and the company’s positive reputation. The Custodian/CSR will be responsible for executing a range of custodial duties such as floor care, surface cleaning, waste removal, light maintenance, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. The position offers a competitive wage of $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, along with consistent weekday shifts from Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. The candidate will also handle stock management of janitorial supplies and perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs.

Job Requirements

  • less than high school education or equivalent experience
  • must have reliable transportation
  • ability to read and write basic sentences

  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • knowledge of American standard units of measurement
  • valid driver's license and proof of vehicle registration and insurance if operating a vehicle for business purposes

Job Qualifications

  • less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
  • ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • know American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance, and volume
  • reliable transportation
  • valid driver's license if driving on business
  • proof of vehicle registration and insurance if driving
  • bilingual is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • floor care including vacuuming, mopping, carpet spotting
  • surface care such as dusting, sanitizing, glass, mirror, window cleaning, metal and wood polishing, cleaning blinds and draperies
  • waste removal by emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to disposal areas
  • light maintenance including replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets
  • comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • follow company protocols, policies, and rules
  • take direction and respond to supervision
  • use proper personal protective equipment
  • present a professional appearance and conduct
  • transport small equipment and furniture, straighten areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
  • clean drop-in desktops between events
  • assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms
  • restroom cleaning
  • glass cleaning
  • restock and organize supplies in janitorial closets and storage areas
  • clean elevators
  • spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets
  • dust open common spaces
