Job Description
SBM Management Services, LP, along with its affiliates, is renowned for fostering inclusive and equal-opportunity workplaces dedicated to promoting diversity and equity at every level. As a well-established facilities management company, SBM Management emphasizes teamwork, integrity, and compassion as core values that drive its operations. With a commitment to employee professional and personal growth, the company offers a supportive management structure coupled with innovative employee programs and extensive career advancement opportunities. This focus allows SBM Management Services to boast a turnover rate that is only one-fourth of the national average, highlighting its ability to retain motivated and satisfied employees who are rewarded fairly for their hard work.
SBM Management is currently seeking a hardworking and dependable Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join its growing team. This regular full-time position offers employees a wage ranging from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, with a shift schedule from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional customer satisfaction by combining custodial duties with strong customer service skills. As a CSR and custodian, the successful candidate is expected to perform alongside other team members in maintaining cleanliness and a welcoming environment while upholding the company’s commitment to safety, professionalism, and superior service.
The Custodian/CSR at SBM plays a multifaceted role that extends beyond traditional cleaning responsibilities. This position requires understanding and following explicit instructions, both oral and written, communicating effectively with coworkers, supervisors, managers, and customers, and occasionally assisting in training or mentoring other employees. The custodian component involves maintaining floor and surface care, waste removal, light maintenance, and adhering strictly to safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment. Additionally, the role demands a professional appearance and conduct at all times to ensure a positive representation of the company.
The CSR aspect emphasizes interpersonal communication skills, the ability to interpret and relay job-related information accurately, good judgment in decision-making, and the capacity to respond to supervision and direction efficiently. This combination of custodial responsibilities with customer service makes the position integral to sustaining the company's high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction. From routine tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and restroom cleaning to more detailed responsibilities like glass cleaning, restocking supplies, spot cleaning upholstered furniture, and organizing supply areas, the custodian plays a key role in maintaining the facility’s immaculate condition.
This role also includes helping with event setup, transport of small equipment and furniture, and assisting the janitorial team with various support tasks. SBM Management requires employees to comply fully with safety rules, company procedures, and policies, actively preventing risk behaviors, and understanding reporting systems related to the working environment. This ensures that the work area remains safe for both employees and visitors.
The company values candidates who are reliable, with valid driver’s licenses and proof of vehicle registration and insurance if using their vehicles during business hours. A high school education is not mandatory, but candidates should have the ability to read, print clearly, and communicate simply and effectively. Basic arithmetic skills and familiarity with measurements related to money, weight, size, and volume are also important. While bilingual skills are considered a plus, they are not essential.
In summary, joining SBM Management as a Custodian/CSR means becoming part of a team focused on delivering excellence in service and custodial care. It is an opportunity to contribute to a company that values individual growth, offers stability, honors diversity, and fosters a workplace culture marked by mutual respect and shared success.
