SBM Management is currently seeking a dedicated and dependable Custodian/Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join their expanding team. This position offers an immediate opportunity for individuals who are hardworking, possess strong customer service skills, and are eager to contribute to a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness throughout the workplace, ensuring customer satisfaction, and effectively collaborating with team members. The role requires adherence to company policies and safety protocols while demonstrating excellent judgment and communication abilities.

As a Custodian/CSR at SBM Management, you will play a critical part in preserving the company's professional appearance and operational functionality. Duties include floor and surface care such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and cleaning glass and mirrors. Additionally, you will manage waste removal and conduct light maintenance tasks including restocking supplies and replacing light bulbs. The position demands a proactive approach to safety, compliance with procedures, proper usage of personal protective equipment, and a professional demeanor. The work schedule is from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with compensation ranging from $14.00 to $15.00 per hour.

Job Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
  • Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with multiples of ten and hundred
  • Knowledge of American measures of money, weight, size, length, and volume
  • Valid driver’s license required if driving own or company vehicle on business time
  • Proof of vehicle registration and insurance required if driving
  • Bilingual is a plus but not required

Job Qualifications

  • We are looking for custodial members that have strong customer service skills and can work successfully with other team members
  • Give, receive or explain job related data using basic communication skills
  • Requires good judgement in thought and/or decision-making
  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Know the American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc
  • Required to have a valid driver’s license if driving own vehicle or company vehicle on business time, will also require you have proof of vehicle registration and insurance

Job Duties

  • The CSR works well with co-workers and customers. Understand and follow explicit instructions, both oral and written
  • May need to explain work methods & instructions
  • Aid in training others or demonstrate work processes
  • Floor care (vacuuming, mopping, carpet spotting)
  • Surface care (dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning, metal/wood polishing, clean blinds and draperies)
  • Waste removal (empty trash and recycle bins, transport trash and waste to proper disposal areas)
  • Light maintenance (replace light bulbs, restock supply cabinet/room)
  • Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Stops at risk behavior of others and self
  • Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Take direction and respond to supervision
  • Use proper personal protective equipment
  • Present a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understand reporting systems, and of the environment
  • Transport small equipment, tools, chairs, & tables, straighten areas, such as lobbies, conference rooms, Pick up trash, recycling, and compost bins and transport to proper disposal areas, Light Vacuuming, Dusting, Restocking supplies
  • In between events will be asked to clean drop in desktops, Assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms & break rooms, Damp mop floors, Restroom cleaning, Glass cleaning, Restock and organize supplies in janitorial closets and storage areas, clean elevators, Spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets, and dust open common spaces
