Job Description
SBM Management is a well-established company specializing in providing top-notch management services with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and operational excellence. Known for its commitment to integrity, compassion, teamwork, and employee growth, SBM Management has earned a reputation as an employer of choice in the industry. The company takes pride in fostering a supportive management environment and implementing innovative employee programs, resulting in a turnover rate that is one-fourth the national average. SBM Management encourages both personal and professional development, ensuring that all team members have opportunities to advance their careers while contributing to the overall success and quality of their services.
The custodian/customer service representative (CSR) position at SBM Management is an essential role that blends custodial duties with customer service responsibilities. This role is ideal for hardworking and dependable individuals who possess strong communication skills and a willingness to work cooperatively with others. As a custodian/CSR, you will be integral to maintaining the cleanliness and safety of various environments, offering a welcoming and professional presence to both coworkers and customers. The company currently has an immediate opening for this position, offering an hourly wage range of $16.50 to $17.50, working Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The responsibilities of this role are diverse and vital for the smooth operation of the facilities managed by SBM Management. These include comprehensive floor care such as vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting, as well as cleaning and maintaining surfaces like dusting, polishing, and sanitizing windows, mirrors, and metal or wood fixtures. Waste management including emptying trash, recycling bins, and transporting waste to appropriate disposal areas is also part of the job. The CSR must perform light maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets or rooms. Adherence to safety rules and company policies is imperative, with an emphasis on stopping risk behaviors and wearing proper personal protective equipment.
The role involves following detailed instructions and responding positively to supervision to ensure that service standards are upheld. In addition to general custodial duties, the CSR assists in training new employees by demonstrating proper work processes and communicating effectively with team members. Between events, custodians will be tasked with cleaning drop-in desks, assisting janitorial staff in restocking restrooms and break rooms, damp mopping floors, cleaning glass surfaces, maintaining restroom cleanliness, and organizing janitorial storage areas. Other duties include cleaning elevators, spot cleaning upholstered furniture and carpets, dusting open common spaces, and arranging furniture to keep common areas neat and functional.
SBM Management values communication skills highly since the position involves interaction with supervisors, managers, coworkers, and customers. Even though less than high school education is acceptable, the role requires some basic verbal and written communication abilities, as well as basic arithmetic skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Knowledge of American measurement systems and money handling is advantageous. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are necessary if driving company or personal vehicles during work hours, along with proof of vehicle registration and insurance. While bilingual abilities are a plus, they are not mandatory.
In summary, the custodian/CSR position with SBM Management offers a unique blend of hands-on custodial work combined with the opportunity to engage in customer service and team support. It provides stable work hours and competitive pay within a company that takes pride in investing in its employees and fostering a positive workplace culture. If you are dependable, customer-oriented, and ready to contribute to a motivated team, this role offers a well-rounded and rewarding experience within a respected management services company.
