This role of Day Porter at CCS Facility Services is crucial to maintaining the aesthetic and functional integrity of office buildings, apartment complexes, and other commercial or institutional properties. A Day Porter’s responsibilities center around keeping common areas spotless and inviting, ensuring a positive experience for building occupants and visitors alike. The role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance duties such as spot cleaning lobby glass doors, polishing chrome fixtures, vacuuming elevator interiors, and inspecting building exteriors for trash. Additional tasks include cleaning ashtrays and sand urns on multiple floors, emptying external trash receptacles, checking restrooms regularly, and tending to stairs, landings, and landscaped areas. The Day Porter helps uphold safety and security standards by reporting issues like lighting failures or solicitors to the management office.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in janitorial or facility cleaning services
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions
- Physical capability to perform cleaning and maintenance tasks
- Availability to work during assigned daytime hours

- Adherence to safety guidelines and procedures
Job Qualifications

- Previous janitorial or day porter experience preferred
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently

- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for extended periods

Job Duties
- Spot clean the lobby glass doors
- Polish chrome on lobby doors
- Vacuum elevator cabs and wipe cab doors, walls, and tops twice a day
- Inspect the building exterior and pick up any trash
- Clean ashtrays and sand urns on every floor
- Empty and clean exterior trash receptacles
- Check restrooms twice daily
- Vacuum lobby once a day or as needed
- Sweep stairwells and landings as needed
- Remove all debris from landscaped areas as needed
- Sweep building entrances
- Clean and remove smudges and marks on walls, doors, and wall covering
- Report any lights out (exit, directory boards, etc.) to the Management Office
- Report any solicitors to the Management Office
- Police lobby to keep floors and planters free of paper, debris, etc., especially at high-traffic times
- Empty all trash receptacles
- Vacuum carpeted floors
- Dust mop lobby floors twice daily
- Polish elevator cab railings and doors and main lobby call buttons
- Assist building Engineer daily per Management discretion
