Job Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation
  • less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to read 2-3 syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
  • ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide by 10s and 100s
  • know American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance, and volume measures such as cups, pints, quarts, gallons
  • required to have a valid driver’s license if driving own vehicle or company vehicle on business time, will also require proof of vehicle registration and insurance
  • bilingual is a plus, not required

Job Duties

  • Perform floor care including vacuuming, mopping, and carpet spotting
  • clean and sanitize surfaces including dusting, glass, mirrors, windows, metal and wood polishing, blinds, and draperies
  • remove waste by emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to disposal areas
  • perform light maintenance such as replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets
  • comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures and stop at-risk behavior
  • follow all company protocols, procedures, policies, and rules
  • take direction and respond to supervision
  • use proper personal protective equipment
  • maintain a professional appearance and conduct
  • understand reporting systems and environmental procedures
  • transport small equipment and supplies and straighten areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
  • assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms, clean elevators, spot clean furniture and carpets, and dust common spaces
