Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • Reliable transportation
  • Less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read 2-3 syllable words
  • Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers
  • Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
  • Effective communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Basic arithmetic skills including adding and subtracting two-digit numbers and multiplying and dividing by 10s and 100s
  • Knowledge of American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance, and units such as cups, pints, quarts, and gallons
  • Valid driver’s license if driving own or company vehicle during business hours
  • Proof of vehicle registration and insurance if driving
  • Bilingual ability is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Floor care including vacuuming, mopping, carpet spotting
  • Surface care such as dusting, sanitizing, glass/mirror/window cleaning, metal/wood polishing, cleaning blinds and draperies
  • Waste removal including emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to proper disposal areas
  • Light maintenance like replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinet/room
  • Complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures and stopping risk behavior
  • Following all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules
  • Taking direction and responding to supervision
  • Using proper personal protective equipment
  • Presenting a professional appearance and conduct
  • Understanding reporting systems and the environment
  • Transporting small equipment, tools, chairs, and tables
  • Straightening areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
  • Picking up trash, recycling, and compost bins and transporting them to proper disposal areas
  • Assisting janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms
  • Cleaning elevators and performing spot cleaning on furniture and carpets
  • Dusting open common spaces
