less than high school education or up to one-month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
must have reliable transportation
ability to read 2-3 syllable words
ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences
ability to communicate effectively with co-workers supervisors managers and customers
know how to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s
know the American measures of money weight size length shapes distance and measurements such as cups pints quarts and gallons
required to have a valid driver’s license if driving own or company vehicle during business with proof of vehicle registration and insurance

Job Duties

perform floor care including vacuuming mopping and carpet spotting
execute surface care tasks such as dusting sanitizing glass mirror window cleaning metal and wood polishing and cleaning blinds and draperies
remove waste by emptying trash and recycle bins and transporting waste to proper disposal areas
conduct light maintenance including replacing light bulbs and restocking supply cabinets or rooms
comply with safety rules policies and procedures and stop at risk behaviors
follow all company protocols procedures policies and rules
take direction and respond to supervision
use proper personal protective equipment
present a professional appearance and conduct
understand reporting systems and the work environment
transport small equipment tools chairs and tables and straighten areas such as lobbies and conference rooms
pick up trash recycling and compost bins and transport to proper disposal areas
assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms and break rooms
damp mop floors clean restrooms and glass surfaces
restock and organize supplies in janitorial closets and storage areas
clean elevators spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets and dust open common spaces
