Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technical field
- 3+ years experience in technical field
- experience in performing damage quality inspection on data center hardware equipment
- ability to sit for extended periods doing detailed inspection of electronic parts and components
- familiarity with simple inspection equipment such as stereo microscopes and ring lights
- ability to use a PC to record/report data
- strength for medium to heavy materials handling (lifting, pushing/pulling etc)
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in technical field
- 3+ years experience in technical field
- experience in performing damage quality inspection on data center hardware equipment
- experience in special damage inspections and repairs of critical parts on data center hardware
- general knowledge of electronic parts and components used in data center hardware such as motherboards, DIMMs, hard drives, network cards, and optics
- 1st level failure analysis ability for electronic parts
- familiarity with typical mechanical defects of electronic components and hardware
- ability to write process instructions/SOPs
- people skills to work with and influence others
- ability to use a PC to record/report data
Job Duties
- Monitor and reduce damage to data centre hardware parts
- assist site leadership in damage reduction efforts including spot checks of process staging areas for proper handling, packaging, and storage of parts
- execute damaged parts process ensuring damaged parts are verified, quarantined and not mixed with good products
- identify and escalate issues affecting part damage
- provide support for field campaigns and failure investigations
- perform special damage inspections and repairs of critical parts
- perform printed circuit board assembly quick testing for re-inventory boards (~100 boards per week)
- conduct damage verification inspection for parts reported damaged by onsite personnel (up to 100 parts per week)
- repair damaged parts including cleaning thermal paste for CPUs, straightening bent connectors, replacing missing parts such as CPU carrier frames and dust covers
- conduct periodic auditing of handling, ESD processes, and packing at various touch points in data centers
