Job Requirements
- Ability to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to data center sites as needed
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or facility operational startup
- Ability to manage 7/24 shift arrangements and logistics
- Ability to participate in on-call rotation
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Commitment to safety and security standards
- U.S. citizenship required for access to AWS GovCloud region
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent
- 4+ years of information technology experience
- 2+ years of people management experience
- 2+ years of operations and on-call support for data center or mission critical facilities
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Technical writing experience
- Certification such as A+, Net+, Sec+, CCNA, LPIC, Linux+, AWS certification, CND, or Network+
- Experience with system management tools and client/server environments
Job Duties
- Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
- Manage the performance of diverse teams of data center operation professionals across locations
- Develop career paths for employees and update internal tools
- Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
- Ensure efficient management of day-to-day data center operations including queue management and shift arrangements
- Act as the subject matter expert across all aspects of data center operations
- Lead large-scale event management and serve as call leader during outages
- Manage and improve workflows and throughput for data center operations
- Recommend and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and SLAs
- Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absences and vacations
- Continuously strive to improve the quality and quantity of services provided to enhance customer experience
