The company is also known for its emphasis on employee development and operational excellence, contributing to its reputation as a trusted employer in the fast-food sector.
The role of General Manager at Dairy Queen is a full-time leadership position that plays a critical part in the success and daily operations of the store located at 13525 College Blvd, Lenexa, KS. This position involves managing the entire store operation during scheduled day, night, and weekend shifts to ensure that quality, service, and atmosphere meet or exceed fan expectations. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's functions, including inventory control, ordering products, cash management, and maintaining safety standards.

The General Manager supports the execution of the restaurant's business plan by analyzing financial metrics such as cost of goods sold (COGS), profit and loss statements, and labor scheduling to optimize sales and profitability. The manager also works closely with the owner and existing management team to implement strategies aimed at increasing average meal checks and encouraging more frequent visits from fans.
Fan service is another essential focus area, requiring the General Manager to ensure that all customer interactions meet company standards, swiftly addressing and resolving complaints to transform dissatisfied customers into loyal fans. Leadership duties extend to fostering a positive work environment that promotes cooperation, high morale, and productivity among the staff. The role also involves assisting with hiring, coaching, monitoring employee performance, enforcing policies, preparing schedules, and maintaining cash control and security protocols. Overall, this position requires a dynamic, results-oriented leader who is passionate about foodservice operations and committed to delivering an exceptional fan experience every day.
