Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior supervisory experience
- prior dairy experience
- ability to lift, twist, move, and carry a maximum of 50 lbs from the floor to shelving or overhead racks
- maintain active signage and pricing in departmental areas
- care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations
- accurately and efficiently handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers
- respond promptly and politely to customers, coworkers, and vendors
- proper usage of store phone and intercom systems
- supervise and perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check
Job Qualifications
- Basic mathematics skills including add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior supervisory experience
- prior dairy experience
Job Duties
- Initiate and make recommendations regarding the hiring, firing, discipline, promotion, and evaluation of all Dairy Department personnel
- orient and train all new Dairy Department employees and retrain employees when necessary
- develop a weekly labor schedule for all Dairy Department employees for approval by the store manager
- maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures
- transport and stock goods within department
- ensure health and safety codes compliance, check for pricing and expiration, and maintain an organizational standard area
- check, record, and retain cooler/freezer temperatures and maintenance
- follow the weekly display plan for case merchandising and ad promotion
- stay up to date and in congruence with health and safety standards
- hold a working knowledge of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and machines within the department
- order all dairy products and supplies from authorized vendors to minimize out-of-stocks while maintaining desired bakery turns
- comprehend and provide complex verbal instructions and descriptions concerning store policy, procedures, and equipment usage
- supervise and organize the cooler/freezer/preparation area for receipt of merchandise
- verify merchandise against invoices
- inspect deliveries for shortages, damage, and quality
- sort cases for stocking or product preparation and code-date all case items in the cooler/freezer
