Job Description

Valley View Casino & Hotel is a premier entertainment destination located in San Diego, recognized as one of the city's Best Places To Work by the San Diego Business Journal. Deeply rooted in the Valley Center community and owned by the San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians, the casino and hotel reflect a proud heritage of enterprise, opportunity, and commitment to the local community. As an establishment that values its team members as the foundation of everything it does, Valley View Casino & Hotel offers a dynamic and supportive work environment focused on the personal and professional growth of its employees. With an emphasis on fun, excitement, and an array of comprehensive benefits, the casino provides opportunities to help employees meet their lifetime goals while fostering a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.

The role of Kitchen Supervisor at Valley View Casino & Hotel is a critical position responsible for overseeing the entire food operations within an assigned kitchen during scheduled shifts. This role involves supervising and directing kitchen team members, ensuring adherence to high standards of food preparation, sanitation, and customer service. The Kitchen Supervisor plays an integral part in maintaining kitchen efficiency, coordinating tasks with line cooks, dishwashers, servers, and other staff to deliver outstanding dining experiences to guests. Reporting directly to the Executive Chef or Room Chef, the supervisor ensures that the kitchen operates smoothly and effectively, aligning with the strategic plans and vision of the culinary department.

Beyond managing daily food preparation and kitchen operations, the Kitchen Supervisor is tasked with fostering a positive work environment that encourages clear communication and teamwork. This role requires a leader who can handle scheduling, monitor labor and revenue benchmarks, manage inventory and supplies, and maintain compliance with all health, liquor, and safety regulations. The supervisor acts as the main point of contact for guest concerns related to food service, ensuring their satisfaction and promptly resolving any issues.

This position calls for someone with strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and a solid background in culinary management, ideally supported by formal training and hands-on experience. The successful candidate will possess the capability to work a flexible schedule that includes all shifts, weekends, and holidays, as the casino operates 24/7. Physical stamina is also necessary due to the demands of standing for long periods and handling kitchen tasks that may involve lifting and moving heavy items.

Joining Valley View Casino & Hotel as a Kitchen Supervisor means becoming part of a team dedicated to excellence and community values. The position offers numerous opportunities for growth and advancement within a supportive and vibrant hospitality environment. The casino is committed to maintaining a workplace that upholds its Standards of Excellence, promoting professionalism, ethical conduct, and a consistent attendance record. Team members are expected to contribute to the positive culture and success of the casino, all while enjoying competitive benefits and a rewarding career path.
