The role of Housekeeper / Customer Care Representative at UAMS is integral to maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and pleasant environment crucial to effective healthcare delivery. This contractor position involves the general cleaning and upkeep of diverse facility areas including academic buildings, research laboratories, and inpatient and outpatient care units. Under established procedures and safety standards, the individual in this role will perform various housekeeping duties vital to the day-to-day operation of the institution. From waste removal and floor maintenance to cleaning specialized areas and handling linens, this position demands detail orientation and a commitment to maintaining high sanitary standards. Job Requirements
- Must have housekeeping experience
- must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or have an approved medical or religious exemption
- must have legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Job Duties
- Empties waste baskets, dumps trash, and replaces trash bags
- wipes and cleans furniture, such as desktops, tables, and other surfaces
- cleans walls, windows, and windowsills
- sweeps, mops, and buffs floors, vacuums and shampoos rugs, cleans baseboards, dusts furniture and fixtures, washes windows and blinds, and empties trash
- strips and waxes floors, as needed
- cleans bathroom fixtures and stocks bathroom with soap, toilet tissue, and paper towels
- cleans areas requiring special cleaning methods, by use of specific cleansers, sterilized equipment, and/or disposing of contaminated wastes
- issues towels and bed linens to members/students
- collects and sends dirty linens and towels to laundry
- loads soiled articles into washing machine, loads chemicals, sets controls, removes and transfers articles to dryer, sets controls, and removes articles when dry
- operates steam press to iron articles and fold articles for delivery
- sorts, counts, loads, and delivers finished items to user
- may mend damaged articles by machine or by hand sewing
- may perform other duties as assigned
