Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months work experience
  • Data entry and keyboard experience
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • Located within close proximity to Indianapolis Aviation Drive facility
  • Availability for Monday-Thursday 5 pm to 3:30 am shift
  • Willingness to work in a variable remote and office-based model

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 6 months work experience
  • Data entry and keyboarding skills
  • Proficient in MS Office and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience using multiple systems and reference materials
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred
  • CCS and/or Broker's license preferred

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers
  • Provide impeccable customer service
  • Process commodities requiring specialized processing to reduce risk of liquidated damages and penalties
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, and customs resources
  • Perform data entry and processing of import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and participating government agencies
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with record keeping requirements
  • Adhere to international importing and exporting regulations
  • Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operating companies, customers, and government agencies to deliver high-quality service
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings as needed
  • Perform entry reconciliations and reviews
  • Follow up on customs matters and resolve problems
  • Ensure compliance with all government and organizational policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
