Job Description

FedEx Logistics, a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation, is a leading provider of comprehensive freight forwarding and supply chain solutions tailored to meet the needs of businesses of all sizes across the globe. Specializing in international ocean and air freight forwarding, surface transportation, customs brokerage, trade advisory services, and e-commerce solutions, FedEx Logistics enables companies to efficiently and effectively navigate the complexities of global shipping. With a commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction, FedEx Logistics offers a dynamic work environment focused on professional growth and the seamless integration of logistics services. The company is recognized for fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, and it provides equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates including veterans and individuals with disabilities.

The Customs Entry Specialist role at FedEx Logistics is a critical position responsible for ensuring compliance with customs and government agency regulations while managing various processes related to import shipment clearance. This position involves decision-making for release-related tasks, assigning workload appropriately, and processing entries including live/quota entries, FDA/FWS entries, scrolling, voids/deletes, and voluntary entries using computer systems in a Windows-based environment. The Specialist ensures all shipments comply with harmonized tariff classifications, NAFTA regulations, reduced duty rates, and other government agency requirements. The role requires thorough analysis of documentation to verify tariff classifications and duty rates and involves contacting customers to resolve classification questions or to obtain necessary documentation.

Additionally, the Customs Entry Specialist manages the classification and release of aged shipments, responds to inquiries from FedEx Express and customers about clearance status, and communicates with Customs and Border Protection (CBP), other government agencies, customers, and internal teams to facilitate timely shipment releases. The position demands strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a high-volume, time-sensitive work environment. Proficiency with FedEx systems, customer databases, spreadsheets, and manifest scrolling is essential, alongside solid verbal and written communication skills. The Specialist also assists in analyzing and resolving unapplied cash and non-payments, processing invoices, making accounting adjustments, and ensuring that electronic submission of required information is accurate and timely.

This full-time position offers an hourly wage ranging from $16.00 to $24.60, based on experience and other factors. The position's standard work schedule is Sunday through Thursday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with Sunday hours starting at 6:30 am. FedEx Logistics provides its employees with competitive benefits including health, vision, and dental insurance, retirement plans, and tuition reimbursement. As an equal opportunity employer, FedEx Logistics is committed to creating an inclusive work environment and adheres to fair hiring practices, including the consideration of applicants with criminal histories in accordance with applicable local ordinances. Candidates seeking to join a global leader in logistics, offering comprehensive training and a supportive workplace, will find this role both challenging and rewarding.
