Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • No prior industry experience necessary
  • Minimum six months of work experience preferred
  • Data entry and keyboarding experience required
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
  • Familiarity with office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage a high volume of work
  • Ability to handle time-sensitive work
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials
  • Willingness to interact professionally with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, and management at all levels

Job Duties

  • Coordinate documentation required by US Customs and government agencies for goods entry into the US
  • Provide exemplary customer service to internal and external stakeholders
  • Obtain correct classification of goods using databases, SOPs, tariff books, internet, or customs
  • Perform data entry and process various import-related documentation for submission to US Customs and participating government agencies
  • Maintain shipment documentation in compliance with record-keeping requirements
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations
  • Collaborate with internal staff, departments, FedEx operations, and customers to deliver high service levels
  • Process agency brokerage shipments
  • Handle remote filings as necessary
  • Ensure adherence to all government and organizational policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
