Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years experience in customs or import/export operations
- Strong understanding of domestic and international customs laws
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Proficient in English language communication
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience in customs compliance or related role
- Strong knowledge of import, export, and Foreign Trade Zone regulations
- Familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Experience in preparing and submitting customs documentation
- Ability to conduct audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient with customs software and data management systems
Job Duties
- Ensure all import, export and Foreign Trade Zone activities comply with applicable laws and regulations
- Prepare and submit accurate documentation required for the clearance of goods through customs
- Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and determine appropriate duty rates
- Provide guidance on customs requirements, tariffs, shipping restrictions, and other trade-related matters
- Maintain records of all customs entries, duty payments, and other relevant transactions
- Conduct internal audits of customs entries and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Liaise with customs officials, shipping companies, and clients to resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process
