Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in customs or import/export operations
  • Strong understanding of domestic and international customs laws
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work onsite and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient in English language communication

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in customs compliance or related role
  • Strong knowledge of import, export, and Foreign Trade Zone regulations
  • Familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
  • Experience in preparing and submitting customs documentation
  • Ability to conduct audits and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with customs software and data management systems

Job Duties

  • Ensure all import, export and Foreign Trade Zone activities comply with applicable laws and regulations
  • Prepare and submit accurate documentation required for the clearance of goods through customs
  • Classify goods according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule and determine appropriate duty rates
  • Provide guidance on customs requirements, tariffs, shipping restrictions, and other trade-related matters
  • Maintain records of all customs entries, duty payments, and other relevant transactions
  • Conduct internal audits of customs entries and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Liaise with customs officials, shipping companies, and clients to resolve any issues that may arise during the clearance process
