Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 12 months of brokerage or transportation and/or customer service experience
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment such as phone, fax, photocopier, printer, and scanner
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle high volume workload
- Ability to manage time-sensitive work
- Capacity to work independently with minimum supervision
- Detail oriented
- Knowledge of HTS classification and harmonized tariff system
- Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and other federal requirements in specific expertise area
- Willingness to participate in paid training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED

- Familiarity with harmonized tariff system

Job Duties
- Provide impeccable customer service
- Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to the appropriate parties in accordance with customs laws and regulations
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve problems delaying freight release or movement
- Maintain relationships with correspondent brokers, transport and brokerage (T&B) services, and other providers
- Resolve banking and letter of credit problems
- Advise customers on payment terms
- Obtain payment on delinquent accounts and complete accounting adjustments
- Resolve billing issues and coordinate post-entry activities
- Complete accurate data input and corrections
- Perform root cause analysis as directed
- Manage the entry verification process
- Correspond with business partners through written, phone, or email communication
- Produce operational trend reports
- Keep partners informed about exception processes
- Handle pre-alerts according to customer SOP
- Maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services
- Support Account Administrators with account management activities including exception logs and special spreadsheets
- Perform entry reconciliation
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer front-line personnel
- Facilitate entry processing and exception resolution
- Perform additional duties as assigned
