Job Requirements

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • 12 months of brokerage or transportation experience or customer service experience required
  • Proficiency with MS Office, Outlook, and office equipment required
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Detail oriented
  • Knowledge in HTS classification and harmonized tariff system
  • Knowledge of U.S. customs regulations and federal requirements
  • Ability to handle high volume and time-sensitive work
  • Preferred experience in air or ocean transportation
  • Preferred experience with airway or ocean bills
  • Preferred CargoWise system experience

Job Qualifications

  • Familiarity with U.S. customs regulations and federal compliance requirements

  • Experience with Air or Ocean transportation preferred
  • Experience with airway or ocean bills preferred
  • CargoWise system experience a plus

Job Duties

  • Provide consistent customer service and resolution to ensure timely release and movement of freight
  • Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation in compliance with customs laws and regulations
  • Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues delaying freight release or movement
  • Maintain relationships with brokers, transportation, and other service providers to exceed customer service requirements
  • Resolve banking, letter of credit problems, and billing issues
  • Advise customers on payment terms and obtain payment on delinquent accounts
  • Coordinate post-entry activities and perform data input and correction in computer systems
  • Perform root cause analysis and entry reconciliation
  • Manage entry verification process and correspond with business partners via multiple communication mediums
  • Support account administrators with management activities and produce operational trend reports
  • Maintain knowledge of FedEx products and services
  • Facilitate entry processing and post-arrival exception resolution
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
