Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- minimum of 2 years experience in customs brokerage
- knowledge of customs regulations and government agency requirements
- proficiency in Microsoft Office
- ability to perform accurate data entry
- effective communication skills
- U.S. work authorization or citizenship
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
- minimum of 2 years' experience with a customs brokerage
- basic knowledge of customs operations, regulations, and related government agency procedures
- proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- customs broker license preferred
- strong attention to detail with accurate and rapid data entry skills
- excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, lawful permanent resident, or authorized to work in the United States
Job Duties
- Prepare customs entries and coordinate freight forwarding to designated destinations, working with international and domestic carriers, overseas offices, and importers
- monitor and follow up on the clearance process for all prepared entries
- identify and resolve documentation discrepancies, communicating effectively with clients and supervisors
- arrange and track freight delivery to final locations
- resolve finance and accounting reconciliation exchange issues related to shipments
- scan and upload customs entries into the imaging system within set deadlines
- create reports, presentations, and data analysis using various software tools and databases
- troubleshoot and address documentation issues through effective written and verbal communication with customers and foreign offices
- develop and maintain strong client relationships
- work weekends on a rotational basis and follow a holiday schedule as required by operational needs
