Job Requirements

  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • 5-10 years of experience as Customs Brokerage Manager
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor a team
  • Knowledge of U.S. Customs Service regulations and federal import agencies
  • Ability to prepare and review customs entry documents
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills
  • Available to work New York hours 9:00 am to 6:00 pm EST

Job Qualifications

  • Licensed Customs Broker
  • 5-10 years of experience as Customs Brokerage Manager
  • Experience managing a team of Entry Writers
  • Experience with Entry Writing and U.S. Customs
  • Good working knowledge of harmonized tariff, CROSS, and U.S. Customs regulations
  • Ability to mentor and lead a customs brokerage team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Job Duties

  • Manages subordinate supervisors and managers in the Customs Brokerage department
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units
  • Directly supervises non-supervisory employees
  • Carry out supervisory responsibility in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • Planning, assigning, and directing work
  • Appraising performance
  • Rewarding and disciplining employees
  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Prepares entry papers from shipper's invoice in accordance with U.S. Customs Service regulations and other federal agencies
  • Files papers with Customs Service and arranges for payment of duties
  • Quotes duty rates on goods to be imported
  • Prepares papers for shippers desiring to appeal duty charges imposed by Customs Service
  • Provides for storage of imported goods and transportation from port to final destination
  • Classifies codes for U.S. Customs and ensures duties, taxes, and fees are paid
  • Maintains digital and hard copy compliance records
