Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in international business, supply chain management, or international relations
  • At least 5 years of relevant consultative experience and project management in customs brokerage
  • Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. import laws, regulations, and procedures
  • Sales ability and experience working with customers and sales teams
  • Understanding of USA, CAN, and MEX border customs regulations
  • Experience using brokerage systems, preferably Cargo Wise
  • Possession of a valid U.S. Customs Broker license
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in international business, supply chain management, or international relations
  • 5+ years of consultative experience and project management in customs brokerage
  • Deep understanding of U.S. import laws, regulations, and procedures including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin determination, duty drawback, reconciliation, and FTZ
  • Sales acumen and comfort working directly with customers and internal sales team
  • Knowledge of USA, CAN and MEX border customs regulations
  • Familiarity with brokerage systems, preferably Cargo Wise
  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus

Job Duties

  • Provide customs consulting services and advice for all import shipments
  • Ensure compliant service offerings including consulting, duty drawback, reconciliation, FTZ as per import regulations
  • Classify goods under appropriate tariff codes and advise on accurate import valuation
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and government agencies
  • Help clients identify and implement strategies to reduce import costs
  • Maintain accurate records of import documentation and related activities
  • Focus primarily on import shipments to USA
  • Engage and support new sales opportunities
  • Identify and mitigate potential import risks and delays
