Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in international business, supply chain management, or international relations
- At least 5 years of relevant consultative experience and project management in customs brokerage
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. import laws, regulations, and procedures
- Sales ability and experience working with customers and sales teams
- Understanding of USA, CAN, and MEX border customs regulations
- Experience using brokerage systems, preferably Cargo Wise
- Possession of a valid U.S. Customs Broker license
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in international business, supply chain management, or international relations
- 5+ years of consultative experience and project management in customs brokerage
- Deep understanding of U.S. import laws, regulations, and procedures including HTS classification, valuation, country of origin determination, duty drawback, reconciliation, and FTZ
- Sales acumen and comfort working directly with customers and internal sales team
- Knowledge of USA, CAN and MEX border customs regulations
- Familiarity with brokerage systems, preferably Cargo Wise
- Licensed U.S. Customs Broker
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Job Duties
- Provide customs consulting services and advice for all import shipments
- Ensure compliant service offerings including consulting, duty drawback, reconciliation, FTZ as per import regulations
- Classify goods under appropriate tariff codes and advise on accurate import valuation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and government agencies
- Help clients identify and implement strategies to reduce import costs
- Maintain accurate records of import documentation and related activities
- Focus primarily on import shipments to USA
- Engage and support new sales opportunities
- Identify and mitigate potential import risks and delays
