Job Requirements
- Licensed Customs Broker or Customs Certified Specialist preferred
- Minimum of five years in logistics or forwarding industry
- Minimum of three years in supervisory role
- Minimum of four years experience in customs brokerage with strong knowledge of customs regulations
- Bilingual skills are a plus
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not mandatory
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of customs laws, practices and procedures
- Knowledge of Food Drug Administration (FDA), Fish and Wildlife (US F&W) and other government agency regulations
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Cargo Wise platform, and AS400 brokerage system
- Detail oriented with ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated with capability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to interact effectively with co-workers, supervisors, subordinates, and government officials
- Must be physically able to perform essential duties without health or safety risks
Job Duties
- Oversee compliance and supervision of customs brokerage operations as licensed customs broker and permit holder
- Manage all transactions with U.S. Customs and Border Protection and other government agencies including ISF and CFS
- Train and educate staff to improve skills and ensure regulatory compliance
- Assist and guide customers on customs compliance, classification, valuation, and trade program issues
- Ensure organization and productivity of import personnel while enforcing company and government standards
- Supervise Importer Security Filings (ISF) for 100% compliance
- Verify timely payment of duty statements, ACH and PMS following corporate policies
